“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. –Jeremiah 29:11
That is Jon Ramirez’ theme Scripture verse, one that he has relied on in sometimes humiliating circumstances. Things were going well in Jon’s marriage, when his spouse suddenly announced she was no longer interested in being married. So she went her way, and Jon was left at the mercy of parents for a place to live.
Talk about humbling.
But it’s those moments when we’re completely broken that God can operate his perfect will in our lives. Jon relied on God’s grace, sometimes manifested through the kindness and generosity of others in his time of need – and now is “recklessly generous” with his time and talents with whomever may be in need.
That’s a heavenly “paying it forward” mindset we heartily approve of!
